  • I just made this but used honeybell, also added germall plus for a preservative. I hope I love it because it took so much of my essential oil. I plan on using it for shaving.

  • I tried this recipe and I love it. It’s definitely more runny than typical store bought body wash but still suds up if you use enough. I used jojoba oil instead of hemp. I cut the recipe in half and used 40 drops lavender and 32 drops balm mint bush. I don’t find the Castile soap to be drying at all in this recipe.

  • I’m planning to mix this up later using Dr Bonner’s Peppermint Castile soap. I’m going to mix it then add mandarin to one half, lime and grapefruit pink to the other half.

  • Castille soap is very drying to my skin and the hardwater in my area leaves behind soap scum residue. What can I use instead or to combat this issue?

  • Love this body wash. The glycerin helps keep the castile soap from drying out my skin. I use fco or jojoba oil instead of hemp, which also helps with keeping my skin moisturized. I love mixing up the eos for different shower times. I have a relax version for evening showers before bed, and an energizing citrus blend for early mornings.

  • I just made this body wash and I really love it! The hemp does give it a bit of a earthy smell, but the mandarin helps. You get used to it anyway and it’s totally worth it because I never feel like I have to moisturize after showering now. I can’t believe how soft it makes my skin feel.

  • I used this receipt to Lavender Body Wash. Would you used the same measurements going forward?

    1. Yes, you could use different essential oils. We usually recommend 1% dilution, unless a specific eo recommends using lower than that (check the label to make sure)…thanks!

  • Hi, what is the purpose of glycerin and hemp seed oil for a body wash? And also how does it affect texture – won’t it feel oily and sticky ? Tx

    1. Hemp seed is rich in vitamins and nutrients to help moisturize you skin. Glycerin is a humectant and draws moisture from the air to moisturize the skin. Both carrier oils and glycerin are common ingredients in body wash and soaps however you can leave them out, or even lower the amounts, if you prefer.
