Immune Boosting Shower Discs

My kids haven’t even been back in school for a week and we’re already getting sick germs!  I decided to throw these together for my morning shower when I wake up feeling a little under the weather.

What you’ll need:
  • 2 cups flour
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 3 tablespoons water
  • Silicon Mold
Essential Oil Master Blend:
What you’ll do:
  1. Mix all ingredients except essential oils in a bowl.
  2. Place into the old and cook on 300 for 20 minutes.
  3. Remove from mold and drop 5 drops of your master blend onto each disc.
  4. Store in a jar.
To use:

Place on shower floor (or soap dish), not directly in the water spray, and enjoy the fabulous aroma and benefits of your blend!  Mine last  5-10 minutes (depending on how much water gets on it) so it’s the perfect amount of time for a quick shower.

  • Would love to make these but flour in the shower sounds like a mess! An updated recipe for these would be amazing!!

    1. I would recommend Frankincense Carteri, or one of our citrus oils 🙂 However, I would not use the Germ Fighter and Immune Aid together. I would stick to just the Immune Aid

  • Very worried about this recipe as there was not nearly enough water to mix with the dry ingredients. I wasn’t sure what the consistency was to be like and had to add a total of 10 Tbsp. of water just to get it to stick together to put in the molds. I’m wondering if flour is supposed to be the ingredient used and not baking soda. I now have little dough balls that are probably NOT going to disintegrate with water…….but, maybe they aren’t supposed to. Any advice for what to do?

    1. Stephanie, thank you so much for your feedback…We will look into this recipe once again and try it out to work out any kinks. We are reviewing the older blog posts such as this one. We appreciate feedback like this so much!

      1. Thanks so much, Diane……As a newbie, I just want to make all that I can with my EOs and I ordered the ones in this recipe to do just that!

  • I had an incredibly hard time with these. It definitely was really powdery before I put them in my muffin pans (molds were being used) cooked it to 20 minutes, let sit for about an hour, then dumped on the counter and about 30% of each was still crumbly. Put it in the soap holder in my shower, water barely dropped on it, and I did not smell a thing. What did I do wrong?!

    1. Cassie, I am sorry to hear this recipe was not successful for you. You may need to add a little more water if the discs are powdery and not holding together. I live in a dry climate and find I need to add additional liquid often times when I am making DIY products.

  • Do these have that “burst” of scent effect? I’m also wanting something kidsafe that would have that Vick’s effect for a decongestant. Any suggestions?

  • I’m new to this and would love to make these for friends and family for the holidays. It would be an introduction to oils for them too. Which oils or blends would you recommend for kids and adults? I know this post is for immune support, but I’m wondering which ones tend to be most popular or enjoyed by most people? THANKS!!!

    1. I would recommend going with our expertly blended synergies. The synergies with our KidSafe stamp are equally as effective as the other synergies but they are safe for those ages 2 and up. Calming The Child is one of my very favorite synergies, it’s relaxing and calming. The new holiday blends are fabulous as well! If you want advice on oils to address a specific concern please feel free to email us at [email protected]

    1. The discs themselves are, however you would want to replace the oils with KidSafe ones. Immune Boom on it’s own is fabulous (and KidSafe)!

  • What a great idea. I was wondering how many disks can you make from one recipe? Would make for a great Christmas gift or stocking stuffer.
