“Sleigh Ride Under the Stars”

Due to allergies and asthma in my family I have not purchased a live tree for several years. I like my house to smell of Christmas without being overpowering. This crisp, woodsy blend creates the feeling of a sleigh ride through the trees on a starry night. I use it to make candles and also sprays to “liven up” artificial trees, wreaths and garlands. Either one makes a great gift for family and friends!
Master Blend Ingredients:
- 40 drops Juniper Berry
- 16 drops Balsam Fir
- 16 drops Spruce
Candle
What you’ll need:
- 5 Cups Beeswax Pearls
- 50-70 Drops Sleigh Ride
- Candle Wick
- Candle Holder
What you’ll do:
- Put the wick in the center of the candle holder.
- Melt wax completely in a double boiler.
- Remove bowl from the double boiler.
- Add essential oil and mix well.
- Slowly pour into the candle holder.
- Make sure your wick is centered.
- Let dry completely.
- Light the candle and enjoy!
Liven Up Spray
What you’ll need:
- Witch Hazel
- 72 drops Sleigh Ride
- 1 teaspoon Polysorbate 20
- 4oz Spray Bottle
What you’ll do:
- Fill the spray bottle almost to the top with witch hazel.
- Add Essential oils and Polysorbate 20 and shake well.
5 lucky winners will receive all the essential oils to make the master blend.
Includes 10 mL bottles of: Juniper Berry, Balsam Fir and Spruce
What does the Polysorbate 20 do? (I’ve never used it before.) Does it really need to be added to the spray? Thanks!
Polysorbate is an emulsifier for the essential oils. You can read more about what emulsifiers are and why you need them here. As an alternative, you could use Everclear as it acts as both an emulsifier and preservative. Just make sure it is at least 25% of your mixture.
