Field of Roses Wax Melt DIY
What you’ll need:
- 2 oz Organic Beeswax Pearls
- 3 tbsp Organic Fractionated Coconut Oil
- 30 drops Rose Absolute
- 20 drops Bergamot
- 10 drops Cedarwood Himalayan
- Silicone mold
What you’ll do:
Melt the Beeswax in a double boiler, then add the Fractionated Coconut Oil and stir to combine. Remove from heat and stir in the Rose Absolute, Bergamot, and Cedarwood Himalayan. Pour into the silicone mold and allow to cool completely. Store in an airtight container. When you’re ready to use, add one or two wax molds to your wax melter and enjoy the beautiful aroma!
Is there an oil/butter I can replace the coconut with (allergy).
You can use any carrier oil in these wax melts as it’s purpose is just to help soften the beeswax a bit.
PT’s Rose Absolute (Rosa x centifolia) smells beautiful. I think it’s fresher & livelier than the heavier Rosa x damascena absolute sold by many other EO companies – which smells like old lady roses to me!. PT’s centifolia rose absolute is a cleaner brighter rose that I, a non rose fan, like! It’s my favorite over even rose otto (and priced better the damascena rose too! I’ve used it in facial blends, in other diffuser DIY blends (like rose, jasmine, vanilla & sandalwood w/a pinch of tangerine sometimes) & added a few extra drops to the OOTM “Delight” blend which is mostly citruses with a little rose. A little more rose brings Delight over the top for me! I almost didn’t buy this rose because I really didn’t care for Rose (damascena absolute I’d tried from somewhere else) and Jasmine was my #1 choice in florals (BTW, PT has a fabulous Jasmine Sambac and a 2.5ml size is pricey but affordable for most and well worth the splurge & is SO STRONG you only need a pinch, don’t go by the bottle smell, use a tiny bit & you’ll see how amazing it is!), but I was trying to make a facial serum for my Mom in her 90s and wanted only the best for her so I went w/PT’s Rose Absolute & was shocked to discover how nice it was. It’s not your Grandma’s rose. It’s not the synthetic rose of the 70’s (the cloying obnoxious rose) that so many have come to think of when hearing the word ‘rose’ – like me! So I was HAPPILY shocked to see how great this was! I’ve found it can do wonders to blends and adds a richness to them. If you haven’t tried this yet, if you’ve been sitting on the fence – treat yourself to this decadent but delightful floral. I swear it won’t weigh you down and you can find out how much excitement it can add to your essential oil experiences (Just don’t overdo it – you won’t need or want to.) Like every good thing, use in moderation. And follow PT’s guidelines for dilution. This rose rocks!
I love all florals. Smells amazing when paired with citrus type oils. Like sitting out in a garden during spring
I absolutely love Rose. I do mix Jasmine, Rose and Orange in my diffusor. Smells like Heaven.
This sounds easy! I’d love to make them as a gift for my sister. What is the shelf life after made? 🙂
2-3 years 🙂
I dont have rose oil but I have rose hydrosol. Could I use that replace of the rose oil?
Reach out to our aromatherapists at [email protected] and I’m sure they’ll be able to help you out with that question 🙂
Need to have one, good blog to share
I love the smell of rose oil and I was looking for usage ideas. This blog post has great ideas.
I don’t have a need for wax melts, but I diffused 3 drops Rose, 2 drops Bergamot, and 1 Drop Cedarwood, and it was heavenly!!!
This recipe sounds amazing but I am a little skittish about purchasing the Rose oil. I have never found a product that actually captured the fragrance of roses. Someone mentioned a sampler? How can I get something like that, please? Thank you!
Wondering if one could just put some fractionated coconut oil directly into the wax warmer with a few drops of EO? Maybe add some beeswax beads. Would that work?
That is not something that we have tried before, but if you want to test it out, let us know how it works for you 🙂
Thanks for the information.
had been using your blend with this as an ingredient and saw effects in just a week. thank you PT!
I really love the wax melt recipe but talking with other essential oil users they caution that heating up essential oils will cause them to lose their properties. What do you think?
It would take a lot more heat than what is generated by a wax warmer to cause any harm to the oils. 🙂
I just got my bottle of rose absolute. This will be the first recipe in my list to make. Along with a facial serum. It’s by far my favorite oil thus far
Let us know what you think!
I know its pricey, but that is not PT’s fault. It is a labor intensive essential oil, well worth the cost. Rose is amazing!
It is! It’s one of my favorite oils. 🙂
I have a bottle of this. It’s going to take me a long time to get through it. I don’t hate it, but I don’t love it either.
What have you tried blending with it? Perhaps we could suggest some other blends for you to try to make it more enjoyable!
I love rose absolute! I’ve never had more than a sample of it before, but I might need to get a bottle…
You definitely need to invest in a bottle.. 🙂
This is one of my favorite oils. I like it by itself mostly, but sometimes I add geranium essential oil and/or cedarwood atlas to make it stretch while adding more notes. Ylang Ylang mixes well. One of my favorite unusual blends is one drop of birch tar for every 10-20 drops of Rose Absolute.
This sounds lovely! Thanks for sharing! 🙂
I am buying a bottle and making this! My room will smell amazing. I love roses.
I bought this deal and will definitely have to try this!
We hope you enjoy it!!
I really like this recipe because it doesn’t require any extra supplies like candle wicks. Thank you for the awesome recipes!!
I have not made max welts before, but the instructions here make it seem a lot simpler than I initially thought. Can’t wait to give it a try! Thank you 🙂 Btw, I absolutely love Rose absolute! One drop smells like 1,000 fresh roses.
Wax drops are a very easy way to use oils. I’m sure you’ll love it!
I NEED THIS!
I couldn’t agree with you more Rachel!
Why yes, yes you do! It’s amazing!
I’ve heard that this oil smells wonderful, and have a few DIY recipes I want to try that include this oil!
It does! I know you’ll love it!
I can’t wait to try that recipe and enjoy beautiful rose oil!
It is very beautiful, I’m sure you’ll love it.
cant wait to try this
Oh my, I never thought of wax melts! I bet diffused smells wonderful as well. So many new ideas on this blog…love it
Thank you, Cheryl! We are so glad you love it 🙂
I have rose on my wish list. I can’t wait to get it!
You’ll love it when you do, Debbie! It is a very beautiful oil 🙂
I tbink i will try this recipe or mske some lotion bars.
I love the idea of lotion bars with this blend! Let us know how they turn out if you go that route.
Thanks for great information. I’m thinking of getting this for my friend experiencing “power surges” but I’m afraid I’d be tempted to keep it for myself!
This sounds great! I’ve just started making bath bombs as well but noticed the scent dissappeara quickly. Any tips for this? Thanks!
I’ll have to get a bottle and make these!!!
You won’t regret it!
I love the rose absolute! This recipe sounds awesome!
I love Rose Absolute, too. It smells just like the roses that grow on my bush outside. 🙂
I finally bit the bullet and ordered the 10ml Rose Absolute. I’m excited to try it in some homemade perfumes and solid colognes! Great deal for an oil of this type!
Glad you are enjoy it!
I don’t use a wax melter, but I never thought of combining Rose Absolute with Bergamot and Cedarwood Himalayan in a diffuser. I might add a drop of Patchouli, too. I just now purchased the Rose Absolute. Thanks for the special!
We hope you enjoy it!
This sounds lovely! And what a fabulous deal!
This sounds amazing! Does it make your home smell like a florist when you diffuse it or more subtle?
Thanks so much for the wax melt recipe! This looks delightful
It smells heavenly! I bought rose absolute a month or so a go and am happy to have a new recipe. Thank you Plant Therapy.
What size is on sale?
Ohhhh I am so tempted to get this!!! I love rose!
Thanks for a great wax melt recipe – I never even thought about making my own! Perfect!!
What’s another way of saying “power surge”? I’m not quite sure what you’re getting at. Are you talking about …intense temperature changes that women in their 40s and 50s might start experiencing? Thanks!
This sounds amazing! I love Rose!
This recipe is so relaxing! Be sure to let us know what you think.
I absolutely adore rose!! Those wax melts sound amazing, could regular coconut oil be substituted for the fractionated?
I haven’t made these with solid coconut oil myself but you certainly could. Enjoy the recipe!
Fractionated coconut does not have fragrance, where regular does, which for some people, takes away the gorgeous rose fragrance.
Such an amazing oil. Smells like you’re sitting in a garden surrounded by beauty. Thank you for making this an oil of the week.
What a beautiful description! I couldn’t agree more.
