Honeybell is baaaaaack!
Once only an Oil of the Month, Honeybell, is now back in a big way! Now we’re offering it on our website, for anyone to enjoy.
And you should pick it up, because there are so many ways to use it, including making this DIY perfume, the perfect scent for the end of summer!
Honeybell brings you a fresh and fruity aroma, and a juicy, sparkling citrus bouquet with a bit of woody and herbaceous tones rounding it out. This synergy comes out of the bottle with a delicious burst of berry!
Honeybell contains familiar favorite oils like Orange Sweet and Grapefruit Pink and Lime Steam Distilled. But we also wanted to add a little something extra special to make this synergy really pop, so we added Buchu, Cognac, and Galbanum essential oils to finish this blend, making it perfect for a gorgeous perfume!
Honeybell Solid Perfume
- 2 T Beeswax pearls
- 2 T Organic Jojoba Carrier Oil (or carrier oil of your choice)
- 20-25 drops Honeybell Synergy
Melt beeswax over a double boiler. Stir in a carrier oil. Remove from heat. Stir in 20-25 drops of Honeybell. Pour into small tins or jars and cap tightly to cool.
I’ve been wanting to make a perfume and can’t quite get it right. Sounds like this may be the winner!!
Honeybell is my new favorite scent! I just made this using coconut oil and put in small jars. I’m positive I’ll be making it again but will try putting it in tubes for easier application.
I ordered it while it was 15% off and love it. It feels like a fall blend to me and I wore it in my diffuser necklace all fall long. But I love the idea of the solid perfume. I’ll be making it !!!
I also have a baby and a toddler and plan to make this. I’ve used the honeybell oil directly on my shirt but now i have all the ingredients to make this delicious smelling solid perfume. Thank you Plant Therapy!
This is such a wonderful recipe!
I just made this last night and have received compliments already this morning at work! Love honeybell.
Can I use it if I have a 2++ year old toddler?
Definitely interested in making perfumes!
What a wonderful DIY! Very simple to make and the fragrance is delightful.
Made the lotion for my mother and she love it! Thank you for this simple recipe.
It’s always great when it’s nice and simple! 🙂
Going to order some next week and do some DIY products!
I just ordered honeybell.. I hope I will like it.. This blend sounds exciting because of the rare oils of cognac and galnanbum added…
Honeybelllllll=)))))La la laaaaa=)))This essential oil is so dreamy and lively! I just open the bottle and enjoy the energizing aroma =))))Love it=)The Best=)
Honeybell is amazing! Its the only blend that all of my coworkers can agree on! I cant wait to try it as a perfume!
Hope you love it, Nicole!
I love the idea of a solid perfume! I made a honeybell lotion and it smells so delicious.
Thanks for sharing, Christina! Glad you love it!
I’m very excited to try this! A friend of mine got Honeybell as the OOTM and I was lucky enough to have a sniff. It is heavenly!! I’m so happy this is now up for order, mine is on its way. <3 I will certainly be whipping this up for myself and a few gifts.
Definitely will have to try this! Love Honeybell!
Made my own like this, makes just one tube so you don’t have a lot of leftovers 🙂 plus you can try things out this way, without a lot of waste if you happen to not like it. It makes one chapstick tubes worth.
1/4 tsp beeswax pastilles, 1/4 tsp coconut oil, 1/2 tsp shea butter. Melt together in microwave or small double boiler, allow to cool some, add 10 drops Honeybell, transfer to one empty chapstick tube (tiny funnel or use a pipette). Allow to cool completely and voila! ONE solid perfume conveniently packaged. It smells awesome! Love Honeybell!
(This is also my single serve recipe for lip balms using other oils safe for lips. I only use 5 drops when making lip balm, 10 for solid perfumes )
Thanks for sharing, Alli!
Thank you for the recipe! Im going to make this tomorrow!!!
Thank you for this simple recipe. I like that you can use any scent you want and there aren’t a lot of ingredients!
If you use the dilution provided in the recipe, does anyone know how long the scent will last during the day? Is this something that I will need to reapply multiple times?
Linda, everyone smells a bit differently. I would suggest re-applying as needed but to also keep in mind that scent blindness can make it seem like the smell is no longer there, even when others could smell it around you 🙂
Looking forward to trying this. Honeybell is awesome!
I LOVE the smell of Honey Bell!!! I’m going to take a day or so to make something special for myself!
That sounds like a fun day! So glad you love Honeybell!
Just ordered Honeybell 🙂 Can’t wait to receive it. I am a sucker for anything citrus. Love them all, so can’t wait to try making this perfume. Maybe it will replace my $200 bottle of Orange Blossom Perfume.
I’m loving Honeybell in the diffuser, excited to try the perfume and lotion.
I love love love Honeybell! I’m going to try to make this soon!
Thank you for sharing, Robyn!
I’m definitely making this for Christmas gifts. Glad to see that I don’t have to ration my Honeybell anyomre!
Heard so much hype about this oil. Glad to see its a regular now. Excited to try.
Thank you, David! We hope you love it!
instead of the jojoba oil I use coconut oil smells so good!
Coconut oil is good to use, too! Glad you found out how to make it perfect for you, Sue! Thanks for sharing!
Fantastic and so simple that I’m definitely doing this! And now I don’t have to hoard my Honeybell OOTM lol. Thanks PT 🙂
LOL, I definitely understand wanted to make that Honeybell last a long time! It’s great that we are able to offer it full-time now, and that is all thanks to our customer’s telling us how much they love it. 🙂
I am going to have to try this recipe! And from all of the comments I need to get this Honeybell!
Honeybell sure is a hit! Hope you love it!
I bought this oil and I cannot wait to try some new things. I am anxiously waiting my green package. Let the fun begin!!
Have fun, Brandi! If your green package isn’t in your mailbox already, it should be soon!
Ok, that’s it. I’m buying some!
You won’t regret it, Alexandria!
Always wanted to try a solid perfume, honeybell seems like the perfect scent to try it!
It’s great; especially when you need a midday pick-me-up! Honeybell is very bright and uplifting 🙂
A safe beautiful perfume!! Hpw exciting!!!
Thank you, Joanna! Glad you love it!
Excited to try this! and using some other scents also to make gifts. Will this be firm enough to set up in a chapstick tube?
Absolutely! A chapstick tube would be a great container for this DIY 🙂
How do you apply? And could you still use it around kids even though its not kidsafe? (my kids are 7 and 3). Im so excited to get my bottle of Honeybell, only got it because of all the good reviews it got.
Hello Nancy! After making the solid perfume, you can apply this to desired area of body. Your children should be fine with you using that topically, just as long as they aren’t being held close to the area of application. Wouldn’t want them to be directly inhaling this oil. If you have more questions about how to safely use around children, you can send an email to [email protected]
Can’t wait to try this diy! I love Honeybell
Hope you have fun, Catherine!
I was so looking forward to this solid perfume, but after making it I can barely smell the Honeybell. Would it be okay to go up in the number of drops, or is this maxed out in terms of a safe dilution?
Good afternoon Susan! Honeybell is recommended to dilute between 1-2% for dilution, so you should still be fine with that diltuion if you add a few more drops of oil if the 20-25 is not quite enough. I would not add more that 35 drops to stay within the 2% dilution.
Awesome! Happy to see this is now available for all. This was released before I joined OOTM club, and I chanced upon a bottle in trade. Amazing blend!
We are so happy to bring it back! Glad everyone is loving it so much!
Brb, making solid perfumes in every scent.
So funny, Kristen!! We hope you’re loving them!
thank you so much for continually introducing all of us to these essential oils that I for one have never heard of. your site is such a source of valuable information! and while I am here, thank you for listing the details of each batch of oils, I find that so informative. ever so grateful!

After being diagnosed with stage 4 cancer this year, ive learned I need changes. I think these oils are just what myself and my family need. A healthier environment and lifestyle. I can’t wait to try the oils, its something I can afford currently and have heard nothing but great reviews,im excited.
Valerie, we hope to be what you and your family are needing. You can always email a Certified Aromatherapist at [email protected] for more specific questions regarding oils for you 🙂
I’m so excited to try this !
We hope you love it, Valerie!
I’m excited to try making a solid perfume like this! Does the beeswax help the scent last longer than a typical roll-on with a carrier oil?
Beeswax doesn’t absorb as quickly as certain carrier oils do and it helps to anchor a blend so it certainly may help with the longevity of the scent!
I ordered $20 in oils & got one free. Can’t wait til mine arrives
That’s great, Dawn! So glad you took advantage of that offer!
Was wanting this so bad and got lucky when I got to watch a live and they were giving it free ❤️ Thank you Plant Therapy

my friend just ordered this and said she will make it for me, I am so excited to smell this one
We hope you and your friend love it, Debra!
This seems like an awesome perfume. Have to try it!
Thanks, Teresa! Hope you get to try it!
I love honeybell and this sounds heavenly but is this safe with the citrus oils and probable exposure to the sun? (Still learning what’s safe and what’s not)
That’s a great question, Kristen! Honeybell contains both Grapefruit Pink and Lime, which are both known to cause photosensitivity when not diluted properly. As long as you properly dilute Honeybell to our recommended amount, which is 1-2%, there are no risks for you! Keep in mind that these phototoxic oils are blended with other oils in this blend, making them considerably less potent than if you were to use Grapefruit or Lime individually. If you have any other concerns about the citrus oils in Honeybell, please don’t hesitate to contact our awesome aromatherapists at [email protected] 🙂
