Yesterday, we took a look into how the 1st chakra, also called the root chakra, affects our sense of security and feelings of being grounded. Now let’s move upwards from the base of our spine to the point on our lower abdomen, an inch or two under the belly button. This is where the 2nd chakra resides – the sacral chakra – which we can nourish using aromatherapy as powerful support for your overall wellness in this area [1].
Today’s focus is our Joyful Creation blend. Designed to support your sacral chakra, Joyful Creation has a lushly layered and smooth floral scent that continues to unfold as it reaches the senses. It’s created using the essential oils and extracts of Coriander Seed, Geranium Bourbon, Orange Sweet, and Jasmine Absolute.
In case you need any more reason to try out the set, check out our post on all the things you can do with Jojoba oil, and why you need it!
Your Sacral Chakra
The sacral chakra represents your ability to experience emotional security, passion, and pleasure in creative expression and connection to others. It’s your center of passion and creative energy that propels you to enjoy doing the things you really love with joy and self-acceptance.
When all is well with your sacral chakra, we experience the healthy emotions of pleasure, gratification, intimacy, and desire. These positive feelings stimulate our sense of creativity, connection, growth, and change.
What happens when your sacral chakra is out of balance?
When your sacral chakra is blocked or unbalanced, your relationship with yourself and others may become disconnected and cold. [2]. Trusting in yourself to explore your passions could be overtaken by feelings of insecurity, timidity, and guilt. You may experience attachment issues, misuse sexual energy, or cling to toxic relationships [2]. Physically, symptoms generally occur in the regions of the lower abdomen, back, and reproductive and digestive organs. Pain in these areas, abnormal bowel movements, and impotence may result from a blocked sacral chakra [2].
Balancing your sacral chakra:
Give yourself positive affirmations, dive into your favorite creative expressions, dance like no one’s watching, and sing your heart out in the car! Unblocking the sacral chakra means unlocking your inner passions and releasing them to the world. You need to let go of negative emotional baggage and make space for positive, creative energy! [2].
Joyful Creation supports your sacral chakra by nurturing your spontaneity, passion, and expansion in the birth of new concepts. Enliven your senses with harmony, warmth, and enthusiasm in all of your relationships – including the relationship you have with yourself.
Having a healthy sacral chakra helps to clear energetic blocks related to relationships and creative expression. Joyful Creation will help you open up this energetic area of your body.
To use this blend, you can add to a personal inhaler or diffuser. Putting a drop or two on a tissue and wafting it away from your nose is another fantastic way to enjoy the benefits of this blend. To apply this amazing aroma topically, dilute Joyful Creation to 1% in your favorite carrier oil. You can anoint the area of your sacral chakra, your lower abdomen, by massaging this intentionally in a clockwise direction.
Try this DIY Medley using Joyful Creation to plug into your own positive, creative, and passionate energies. Use it at home to support closeness in your relationships, at work to promote a creative space, or anywhere you want to invite a sense of joy and enthusiasm in moving forward toward transformation.

This oil blend smells incredible!! Love it, and happy to have a diy to go with it!
Yumm! This synergy smells amazing. I love to wear in a diffuser necklace. I will have to try this for my desk.
I think this is my new favorite oil. I can’t get enough of it. I love the floral scent. It is my new perfume!!!!!!
Isn’t it such a beautiful aroma? Using as a perfume is an excellent choice for this Chakra Blend.
Thanks for sharing, I am really enjoying my synergy set. I think this smells like orange blossoms!
So happy to hear that! Thank you for sharing
Oh my goodness. This is my favorite new synergy. The scent is heavenly. I use it with coconut oil.
Yay! So happy you are enjoying the Joyful Creation, Jennifer!
I just ordered the sacral chakra blend and the roller bottle. I’m focusing on unblocking my sacral chakra for creativity, and will use this synergy for support. Thanks for the educational info!
We wish you the best with unblocking that chakra! Let us know how that goes for you!
I already got it! Your free shipping is the absolute best.
Yay! Hope you’re enjoying it!
This was a great read for me. I got some chakras samples in my last Plant Therapy order and haven’t tried them out yet. To be honest, I’ve been confused about them and sort of skeptical. I think I’ll need to do some more reading.

Joyful creation is one of my favorite plant therapy synergies! Thanks for the diy! I’m going to go make a jar for my bathroom right now!
Thank you for this! I need to start using this one more. The jar with a filter seems like such a great idea!
I really want to try this synergy! Chakra 2 is a weak spot for me. Wish I could smell it first.
I can’t wait to try this oil. After looking at each oil, wouldn’t this be good for the skin too? Each individual oil says it is good for skin issues. I loved the smell on the card I got with an purchase and can’t wait to diffuse this oil. I also wonder if it will help with sleep too.
The oils in this blend are very beneficial for the skin, yes! We’d be interested in hearing if it also helps you with your sleep! Let us know
I never thought of sleep too. Oh that sounds wonderful. I do love it and will try it for sleep. Good idea!!!!!
I had forgotten I had wondered about sleep. HAHA
Would this be appropriate to bring to work? I am in a cubicle but people do come over to my desk and such.
Kyla, I personally don’t recommend diffusing in a work environment. There could be ingredients that don’t sit well for some people, and you just never really know how they may react to the blend. What I usually do for work, is add the oils to a personal inhaler that way I can get the benefits of the oils without bothering anyone else around me.
This is such a great oil and delivers on it’s intention. I made a roll on with it, but diffusing it works even better. And I’m definitely trying this idea in the jar!
Thank you for sharing, Jen! Joyful Creation is a beautiful blend ~ hope you love this DIY!
I used a great little fabric pull tie top bag for this and made it a sachet, a great recipe! Thanks PT!
That’s a great idea! Thank you for sharing!
I love this idea & will be making these a baby shower prizes!!
Is there another oil that you can add to this synergy to calm the jasmine down some? I think that’s what bothers me the most about it is the jasmine is too strong for my nose
Lynn, I find that Citrus oils really help tone down strong floral scents for me. Since this blend already has Orange Sweet, you could try to add more of that to the blend, or any of the other ingredients already in the blend to help tone out that Jasmine.
What is the significance of applying in a clockwise manner? Is it clockwise as if you are facing the clock or as if the clock is hanging on you? Does this differ when applying to the back (root chakra)?
Robin, when the chakras are healthy and in balance they spin like little vortexes in a clockwise direction. So, we always want to gently encourage the direction of that movement.
My second fav chakra
How do I get to the article about the 1st Root Chakra? I can’t seem to find it, there are no clickable links. I have the chakra oils set but don’t really use them much, I want to learn better how to utilize them all.
Ally, here is a link for more info about the Grounded Foundation Chakra blend- https://www.planttherapy.com/blog/2018/09/16/chakra-1-grounded-foundation-for-the-root-chakra-foot-cream-diy/
I am excited to try my chakra synergies, especially this one. Is it safe to use multiple synergies at the same time or should you use only one at a time?
Kara, I recommend using one at a time, alternating between synergies. If I’m using a synergy, i typically will use one a day and switch the next day 🙂
I love this Chakra synergy, it is one of my favorites! I like the idea of using it at work in a subtle way like this! Thanks for the idea!
This sounds lovely, but what is the purpose of the coffee filter?
The filter is used to keep moisture out, bugs, etc. You could also use a piece of fabric for a cuter look 🙂
