*Refresh with a few drops of Spiced Orange when the scent begins to dissipate.
Can’t wait to give this a try!
Got excited when i saw the Spiced Orange, then I realized this was a previous article. Going to order some clove bud and see if I can recreate it! Thanks for the idea for the sticks though. I had some I ordered and hadn’t used.
What a great way to use up all my empty essential oil bottles!
Where can I buy reed sticks?
Amazon is a great place to find reed diffuser sticks.
I am wondering about a recommendation for the reed sticks. Have tried some from amazon but thinking that may be why my reed diffusers have not diffused the scent well. Any advice? Hmmm maybe PT could start carrying some that work well!
We don’t have any recommendations for reed sticks, maybe our other readers can offer suggestions!
Thank you! Will have to try this! Neither used reeds before!
This is a great idea. I am going to make one for my desk at work. Thanks!
This is a great idea! I love my diffuser, but using the reed diffuser will allow me to have the benefit of essentials all throughout the house! Can’t wait to make a few!
This looks like a diy even I can pull off 🙂 I was jus thinking I want something like this in our restroom, but I the store bought stuff is way to strong for a small room. Hopefully this will be more subtle. Now i just need to hunt down some reed sticks 🙂
I am excited to try this. I’ve been unsuccessful in the past trying to make reed diffusers have any scent at all.
Let us know how this one works out for you, Shelley!
Too cool, I love this idea for my office area!
I love this idea, definitely going to try!
i dont understand what im doing wrong! I tried with vodka, with alcohol, with water, with fractionated coconut oil, and i cant seem to get the scent to come through. I even tried reeds and bamboo skewers, but the smell wont come. 🙁 My bathroom isnt even very big…
Love this DIY – no electricity, great for the bathroom not too over powering in a small space. Also great by an entrance as there is rarely an outlet near this area in most homes, yet makes a nice inviting aroma for yourself and guests.
This looks easy enough, curious though, how long will this keep the scent? I want to give this a try!
The scent should last at least a couple of weeks. Some oils scents will last longer. You can add more oils to the mix and flip the reeds around to give off more scent
I was just interested in knowing which oil scents last the longest? 🙂 Thanks!
Thanks for the idea! It is easy to make and even my daughter do it on her own too!
I do like Reed diffusers in my small bath and by my front door. Thank you for this recipe.
I have been searching for a DIY aromatherapy reed diffuser, and this one seems to be the best! The blend itself is very nice as well. Thank you for the recipe! Happy Halloween to everyone
Great video! I purchased one of your fall scents, “Harvest Moon” and it is wonderful!
Glad you’re enjoying that!
Great idea! Going to try this fall season.
This is a super cool idea! I’m going to have to have to try it!
Neat idea so I don’t have to use electricity!
I would love to try this! What would be a good replacement for vodka?
Some have used rubbing alcohol instead
I used regular 91% rubbing alcohol instead of vodka. I also recommend taking the sticks out & turning them around once in a while to “refresh” the scent.
I really love using reeds! I am so trying this but with Harvest Moon so it’s Kids Safe.
