Guys, this one’s for you!
Do you have a beard? Do you want one? Well as we’ve mentioned before, Plant Therapy loves beards. Our founder, Chris Jones, personally knows a thing or two about the bearded life.
No-shave November is upon us, which means it’s time to give yourself permission to let your beard do its own glorious thing for a full 30 days.
But growing a beard isn’t as simple as just skipping your morning shave all month; To keep that mane manageable you need more than just a scrub in the shower. Head-turning facial hair happens when you pamper your beard.
What can you win?
And while you’re working on your epic facial mane this No-Shave November, get $5.00 off a Plant Therapy Beard Set using code: BEARD all November long!
Here are our top tips to help you grow an award-winning beard:
1. Keep it clean
Dude, we can’t stress this enough. Make sure you wash your beard daily, as often as your hair. Comb after meals to avoid crumbs. Clean beards are kissable beards!
Tip: Don’t towel-dry your beard, it can cause frizz and split ends (long-haired gents and ladies have known this for years!)
2. Keeps stray hairs tamed
Don’t be afraid to trim strays, keeping things streamlined and well-groomed. Just comb your beard into it’s desired shape, and gently trim any strays with a sharp pair of scissors.
Pro tip: Don’t over-trim! Do one hair at a time to avoid accidentally slicing off a patch of hair you wanted to keep.
Add some of Plant Therapy’s All-Natural Beard Oil to your stock of grooming supplies. Beard oil moisturizes hair follicles and the skin beneath it, tames flyaways, eliminates flakes, and keeps those whiskers healthy, clean, and looking great!
Plant Therapy has two great-smelling beard oils: Smokey Lumberjack and Urban Fresh. Smokey Lumberjack features the essential oils of Patchouli and Cedarwood for a deep, smokey scent. Urban Fresh – with Tea Tree, Eucalyptus, and Lemon – has a bold, fresh smell.
3. Use a natural beard balm
Many beard balms contain silicone, which does a great job making hair look shiny and smooth…but doesn’t offer any extra moisture or nourishment.
Plant Therapy Beard Balm conditions and helps revive your beard, promoting healthy hair growth. Our Beard Balm will help keep your beard together without feeling heavy or greasy, while naturally conditioning your hair.
4. Blow dry unwanted curls away
Curls cramping your style? You might not think of it, but the blow dryer isn’t just for ladies anymore. Blasting your beard while it’s wet with the dryer will help give you a straight, neat beard and tames curls.
5. Keep it combed
Invest in a good fine-tooth grooming comb, and use it regularly. A quick comb-through after a shower, when you wake up and after a meal will keep your beard clean and in check.
6. Embrace grays
This just in: grays are hot. They make you look distinguished and add character to your face. Don’t keep your face shaved for fear of revealing a few silver strands! Ladies love a beard, especially one with a little salt-and-pepper.
7. We mustache you: don’t forget your upper lip
Unless you’ve decided to go with mutton chops or a chin strap (and we really hope you didn’t) growing a great beard means growing a mustache as well.
Keep your lips clear and clean by trimming under your nose and over your lips with a pair of sharp grooming scissors, and invest in a good mustache wax.
