I made this but subbed pink grapefruit for orange and spearmint for peppermint. It smelt wonderful, and it made my feet feel nice.
That sounds like an incredible combo!
What a great idea! Thanks for the recipe! I may use less ingredients, I don’t have all of them on hand ❤️
This sounds amazing. I can’t wait to give it a try.
Thank you so much for this recipe! My feet are so much softer now. Especially my heels 🙂
Great foot scrub, Looking forward to making it, Thank You!
Thanks for the foot scrub diy. Definitely going to use this on my tired old feet.
Wow, this sounds amazing. This time of year especially. I think I will be trying this in the weeks to come.
I am making this and adding to my end of year teacher baskets! Think I will add flip-flops!
This sounds heavenly. I’m going to mix up a batch this weekend!
I just made this scrub last night. My daughter and I had a spa night at home! It was fun. Thank you for the recipe!
My daughter and I have our thing- we rub each other’s feet at night while watching tv. My daughter loves having her feet rubbed (which is my fault, I’ve been doing that since she was preemie.) So I thought I’d make the homemade feet scrub for her- boy she was really excited and loved it! Our feet are sooo soft as if we were having pedicures done by professionally! I even made foot cream that we use it weekly. Plus it is nice having mother/daughter time- she asked to make lip balms together- which is my next project. 🙂
That sounds like such a wonderful mom and daughter time! Thank you for sharing, Leah, and we are so glad we can help with recipes to do together 🙂
My feet could definitely use this! Is the reason this is not KidSafe only because of the peppermint oil? Or is there another ingredient that’s not considered KidSafe too?
Yes, it is only the Peppermint that is not KidSafe. Peppermint can be easily replaced with Spearmint though to make this a kid-friendly recipe 🙂
ok, thank you for the replacement idea! And for the quick reply 🙂
Sounds amazing! I’m making this now.
This looks like a great one! Thanks for sharing!
This sounds awesome! Definitely need to try!
Thank you for this! My husband’s feet will be needing this from lifting weights!
Absolutely! We hope he likes it!
My feet get so dry they crack, this scrub has really helped my foot care program!
I made this for my co-worker, she loved it. Now to make some for my mom.
Wonderful idea! I like the idea of adding in honey. I also tend to replace some of the oils with glycerin and/or aloe vera in order to reduce slipperiness in the shower.
Can’t wait to try this after a good soak in my new footbath!
This was amazing! My first time trying a DIY foot scrub.
Adding this to today’s DIYs. My daughter and I are experimenting with making some scrubs and body butters with all our new oils!
It was the perfect gift for my sister!
Oh this looks so yummy! I need to try this out!
Is there a how to use sheet or print out to make into tags for giving? Not everyone knows how to use a foot scrub effectively.
thank you in advance.
There sure are! Check out our downloads page at https://www.planttherapy.com/downloads, then scroll all the way to the bottom to find printable gift tags 🙂
Can’t wait to make this! Definitely going to need it after hosting Christmas for the first time!
Two questions…does PT sell the vitamin E? And can jojoba be used as a substitute for coconut oil?
Unfortunately, PT does not sell vitamin E, but it can be found easily at many retailers. Also, Jojoba would be a great substitute for Coconut Oil! Thank you for your questions, Lisa 🙂
Thank you for the recipe. I am excited to try this!!!
What a great gift idea! Thanks
I have all the ingredients and the time to do it!!! Yayyy
THANKS!!
So this seems wonderful but is there something I could use in place of the tea tree. I’m kinda allergic to it. Thanks
Sheila, contact our aromatherapists at [email protected] to discuss your particular allergy. I would hate to recommend an essential oil without knowing what it is specifically in Tea Tree that causes you to have a negative reaction 🙂
I think I have everything I need to do this on hand already, and was just thinking I needed just a bit more gifting for my adult girls. They will love this, and so will I
Sounds like an awesome holiday gift !
Great gift item to make for friends- excited to try it!
I love the small amounts. Great bc sometimes I forget I have my DIY
Sounds wonderful
I can’t wait to try this!
Absolutely making this tonight!
I’m gonna try this tonight excited I have all of the ingredients. I just got the sunflower oil in the mail yey
I’m excited to try this! I love that the recipe makes more than a one time use.
This sounds heavenly! Thanks for the recipe. I would have never thought to add honey
My husband would love this. Can we substitute the sunflower oil and get the same results?
You sure can! In most cases, carrier oils are very interchangeable and all of them provide some amazing benefits 🙂
This sounds awesome!! I’m pretty new to essential oils-I always buy the pre-made rollers to take the guess work out of things but I’m looking to expand into making my own roll ons and scrubs! Since I have 2 of these mystery oils coming my way, maybe this will be the first DIY I try! Thanks PT!!
This is a great diy to do with my classmates. Thank You!!
I just made this for a Christmas gift. It smells pretty good, even though I don’t like tea tree. And everything went beautifully, until I added the honey. It got hard and sticky and clumped. :(. I made the second batch and only used half the honey; much better! Hope the recipients like it.
This looks like a great diy to try this weekend for some last minute gifts!
I have always used Pink Himalayan salt Himalayan salts is actually not from the Himalayas. It is sourced from the Khewra Salt Mine in Pakistan, about 300 miles to the west of the Himalayan Mountain Range. This salt mine is the second largest in the world, and has been a source of salt for over 2000 years. The unique pinkish hue is derived from its elements including Iron, calcium, magnesium, and potassium all of which are essential minerals that the human body needs. Himalayan salt crystals contain minerals, small enough for our body and skin to absorb, providing amazing therapeutic benefits to skin, body, and mind
I’m so excited to try this with my girls!
Perfect last minute gift for some friends. Substituting Himalayan salt with sea salt should be okay, right? I’ve got everything else in my bathroom.
Absolutely! Sea salt would be just fine 🙂
This sounds like a lovely gift. Summer has arrived here and a good foot scrub sounds great to get the feet looking summer-ready!
I love this and it’s a perfect gift for all of my Mom friends !
I could really use this. THanks!
