  • Can these recipes be used with a carrier oil in roller balls? We have parrots, so no diffusing in the house.

    1. You can absolutely use them in rollerballs. Just make sure to pay attention to the different dilution rates for each oil.

  • I struggle with clary Sage overpowering things for my nose. I need to find some woods to balance it better with, I think, because I want the benefits of it!

  • Great article. I would also add that the effectiveness of these blends is enhanced when an individual practices a healthy and consistent sleep schedule. Oils aren’t a substitute for a healthy lifestyle, they help to enhance one already in place.

  • I LOVE Lime – the Margarita blend sounds amazing – I can smell it just reading about it! This is going in the diffuser as soon as I get home from work!

  • Is there a page for oil substitutes so we can still make these recipes? I would love to make the calm mom!

  • I’m so excited to try the Calm the Mom blend. I’ve got two inhalers waiting for their blends and I think I’m going to have to go with this one. I already have (and love!) all these oils!

  • I really need to do more self care. Every time I read a blog I want a different oil. This time it is clary sage!!

  • Thanks so much for these blends! I just started attending a Yoga class. Being the newbie, I’m having a hard time feeling relaxed there. Yoga is supposed to be relaxing, not stressful LOL Can’t wait to try one of these calming blends!

  • Love the recipes for calming/relaxing blends but I wish PT made Neroli and Ho Wood in organic. I use the PT “Relax” blend but would like to venture out to others I can blend myself but I only buy organic products. Do love that PT is adding more organics to the options available…guess I’ll have to be patient.

  • Good article. Self care is important. It’s nice to learn ways you wouldn’t normally think of, especially using oils. These blend recipes sound great.

  • This was a great blog entry, can’t wait to do the candy heart diffuser blend and calm the mom inhaler(as soon as I buy Neroli). I know as a mom if three I don’t take as much me time as I should. Ghanks!

  • Thanks for the recipes… I have more oils to add to my wish list so that I can try them! I definitely need the Calming the Mom blend. Single mom of 3 boys, need I say more? Lol

  • Calm the Mom has caught my attention a while, it is the reason I bought Ho Wood. I’m glad I did. I love how the grounding woody scent in the beginning slowly transitions to sweet that lasts all night long when used in a passive diffuser. Just a drop goes a long way for me.

  • This was a wonderful blog post that came at a perfect time as I just found it. I gave a lot of EOs away to an extended family (to all members) and told them I would teach them how to use them soon. Soon has come as a tragic accident occurred that took one of their lives. I have the majority of these oils in stock and plan on making roll-ons with the recipes included in this blog as I cannot find the personal diffusers anywhere.

I’ve been into EOs for many years, using only a few books as guidelines or my own understanding. I am thoroughly impressed that I have come across such a knowledgeable, compassionate, generous, and kind EO company that truly puts the customer first not only with EOs, but also with education, recipes, and creative projects. Plant Therapy does an excellent job at keeping their clients engaged.

    1. Thank you so much for your kind comment, Erin. We are so grateful to be able to provide our customers with everything they need to use EOs safely and effectively 🙂

  • I’m all out of calming the child. It was the first oil I ran out of. I need to order it again. We loved the smell of it and my children requested to smell it when they saw I was about to diffuse something.

  • This post literally made me happy! I want to try all of these blends because I feel like they will bring back memories of candy stores, carnivals and all the greatness of being a kid! The infographics are pretty cool too!

  • Calming the child sounds like a god send!!!! I can NOT wait to try this mix! my child is 3, with sensory disorders and a speech delay, ALWAYS off the wall!! This mix sounds amazing!

  • I have never heard of Davana oil before but I cannot wait to try it. I suffer from anxiety and panic attacks and have been trying to incorporate more natural relief into my routine in addition to my medication and this sounds like a great oil for me!

    1. We hope you love it, Jill! And don’t forget, if you have any questions or concerns about your particular situation, don’t hesitate to reach out to our awesome team of aromatherapists at [email protected] 🙂

  • Thank you for this great blog. I learned so much today especially about Clary Sage lowering cortisol levels and increasing serotonin and that Patchouli (my friend) is great for nervous tension, must be why I’m drawn to it? 😉 I think as women we tend to be the “care givers” and not the care receivers and the need to take time for ourselves and just “be” is so important and also to rest. Learning that can be difficult so when we have great supports like these blogs from Plant Therapy and the expertise behind them that we can trust, it makes it easier to do. I really appreciate you Plant Therapy and also all the input from other’s on this journey. We are all learning. I’m looking forward to making the Candy Heart diffuser blend!!

    1. Thank you so much, Patti, for your nice comment! We truly believe essential oils can have amazing positive impacts on all facets of life and are so thankful we can share our thoughts and spread correct information for everyone to benefit from 🙂

  • Y’all… I need calm the mom! But I only have one of the oils!!!! Need to go see if I can substitute anything!

  • Great blog post! I love all the recipes and the graphics are the best! I think you need to have a new synergy called Candy Hearts…how cute would that be and just in time for Valentines Day!

  • Clary Sage was already on my wish list, this blog post pushed me over the edge! Self care is SO important!

  • for calm the mom is there another oil we can use that is Cheaper then the 4 drops Neroli?
#BrokeMom who needs to be calm!!

    1. Corielle, unfortunately, Neroli isn’t easy to replace. Close scent substitutions would be Palmarosa and Lavender Fine. You’ll have to try the switch and let us know how it turns out 🙂

  • The margarita recipe is amazing! I made an inhaler of it and I am in love with it! It is in my pocket now!!

  • Thank you for the self care reminder and the suggestions. So many times women dont take good enough care of themselves

  • Oh man.. Adding all of these to my wish list! I need to remember to do self care more often and what better way then with some of my favorite oils! Need to remember this!! <3

  • Love learning all the great ways to use my oils. Taking care of me makes me a better wife, mom and friend.

  • Self care is what I’m working on the most, will be ordering some new oils to help my journey to becoming a better me! Thank you PT for the great advice and truly caring about your customers. We LOVE YOU! NO seriously we do! 🙂

  • Tangerine and Clary sage are two of my favorite oils for calming purposes and more. I will have to try incorporating some of these other oils into my routine!

  • Self care and relaxation are so important! I can’t wait to try calming the mom and the margarita blend! I guess need some more oils…

  • I am really looking forward to making and trying the Calming the Mom essential oil blend. It sounds amazing and bonus I have all the oils for it.

  • Great blog post!!! I definitely need to get some Davana. It’s been on my wish list. But now I definitely need to get it for these recipes. Thanks PT for these resolution blogs!

  • My wishlist is growing! I need lime and davana! Thank you for posting these blogs! I love reading through them and learning more!

  • Nice blog. Trying to get more healthy all around so will try some of your suggested blends. These would be good to use when doing my daily bible reading. Thanks

  • Oooooh, the margarita synergy sounds yummy. Actually all these recipes sounds great. Here I go again putting new oils on my wish list.

  • Wow! All those blends look amazing. I love the smell of calming the child but unfortunately everytime i diffused it it gaves me a headache. Maybe I should use an other method for using it.

    1. I have had luck with more passive type diffusion instead. For example, putting on aromatherapy jewelry or using an aromatherapy inhaler. Hope this helps!

  • Oh how my wishlist is growing! Just started my oily journey in early December…having to learn to pace myself, financially. But thank you PT for all the education you provide.

  • Love this blog post. This was my New Years Resolution! Dedicating a little more time to myself for meditation, reading. Can’t wait to try Candy Hearts in the diffuser!

  • I admit that self care is way down on my to do list. But thanks to this blog post I will try to incorporate many of these oils in my self care routine. I do need to find substitutions for some though like Clary Sage and Tangerine as I don’t have those and ordering right now is not an option. Thank you so much for this awesome blog post and the reminder! ❤️❤️
