It’s National Coconut Day!

We couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate than with one of our all-time favorite products: Fractionated Coconut Oil. This gem of a carrier oil is a must-have for any essential oil lover, and here’s why!

It’s Shelf Stable

Unlike your solid coconut, Fractionated Coconut Oil remains in a liquid state all year long.

It’s Versatile

Another great reason to love Fractionated Coconut Oil… it’s incredibly versatile! Because it’s odorless and very lightweight, it can be used in a variety of DIYs. It also absorbs very quickly into the skin, making it ideal for use with any essential oil or blend for quick topical application.

It’s Great for All Skin Types

Because this oil creates a barrier on the skin without clogging pores, it makes a great option for all skin types. Fractionated Coconut Oil can be used to moisturize the skin, remove makeup, and keep hair lustrous and smooth. It readily penetrates the skin, making it perfect for rollerball blends, creams and lotions, all without leaving a greasy film.

  • I too use this to remove my eye makeup – I combine it with other carriers as well. Works great and is a good moisturizer too.

  • Great information! I am loving the fractionated coconut oil as a carrier oil for my body application after a shower, absorbs quickly leaving my skin so soft.

  • This might be a stupid question, but is there any easy way to make regular coconut oil into fractionated coconut oil at home?

  • I found this article really useful. I think a lot people don’t realize how important it is to use 50/50 FCO or Almond oil. I would definitely recommend it if you are trying to make a blend of something.

  • I have been using regular coconut oil for several years, and FCO has been one of my favorites for DIY rollerballs and elbow lotion. I try different brands still Plant therapy is my favorite.

  • I have been so impressed with the quality of Plant Therapy’s fractionated coconut oil- I have a massage therapy license, so I’ve tried dozens of brands in the past, but now this is the only brand I will consider. At home I use it for so many things that I never want to be without it. From using as a carrier oil in making my own roller ball blends, to post shave care, as a deep conditioner for my hair, fractionated coconut oil Is the most versatile oil for body and hair care.

I even put a tiny drop on my razor blades after shaving to keep the blades from rusting in the shower!

  • I do love using FCO in all my rollers. Except for my face serums. But for everything else, it’s great!

  • Thanks for the reminder of how great it is! We use coconut oil for everything but I keep forgetting to buy the fractionated version so I can easily mix with oils for my own roll ons and wear my PT blends.

  • Happy Coconut Day! I love to use 50/50 FCO and Almond oil to remove make-up. My daughter tried it and loved it too so I made some for her and that’s all she uses now.
