Anybody else as in love with fall as we are?! Crisp cool mornings, colorful leaves, and pumpkin spice everything are just a few of the hallmarks of this amazing season. To help get you in full fall mode, we’ve put together some quick and easy tips for getting all the cozy vibes this season.

Switch Up Your Scent

Top 5 Tips for Getting All the Cozy Fall Vibes: Fireside Flannel

Okay, nothing says cozy like your favorite fall scents… cinnamony sweet delectables, fallen leaves, you name it! But for next-level coziness, check out our latest blend: Fireside Flannel! It will remind you of your favorite mountainside retreat cozied up by the campfire in a warm flannel blanket. With the crisp, fresh notes of Juniper Berry, Fir Needle, and Eucalyptus Dives, and the grounding notes of Virginian Cedarwood, Frankincense Carteri, and Vetiver, Fireside Flannel will remind you of nights spent next to the campfire. While Orange Essence, German Chamomile CO2, Neroli, and Ylang Ylang Extra provide a subtle sense of sweetness to round out this incredible new blend. Trust us, Fireside Flannel will give you all the cozy fall vibes.

Layer It Up

Fall fashion has something for everyone! Flannels and puffer vests for the outdoorsy look. Leggings and oversized sweaters for casual vibes. Button-ups and sweaters for that put-together office look. And the accessories! Boots, socks, scarves, and beanies offer the perfect chance to mix and match. Layers not only offer the ability to adapt when the weather can’t make up its mind but also the chance to get creative and nail that perfectly cozy look.

Swap Out the Accessories

As tempting as it is to make your home look like the fall decor section of your favorite craft store, chances are it’s a little too time consuming, not to mention expensive. By swapping out just a few key accessories instead, you can get all the fall feels without a big price tag. One of the easiest and simplest ways to go is with throw pillows and blankets. It’s a simple way to add warm colors and cozy textures to your space. Because nothing says fall quite like a chunky knit blanket or a faux fur throw pillow.

Did Someone Say… Mood Lighting?

Candles, fireplaces, a soft reading lamp… you name it! Nothing quite cozies up a space like a softly flickering amber glow. So bust out those candles and ready the lighter for fantastic fall lighting. But if open flames are a no-no for you (little kids, precocious cats, rental agreements… we get it), there are a few other ways to get that glow without any fire hazards. One simple way is to use a lower watt light bulb. Choose just a handful of lamps or main lights in the spaces you want to feel the coziest and swap those bulbs for a softer glow. And if you really want to pull out all the stops, you can always queue up a fireplace on Netflix (yes, that’s totally a thing). So cozy up with a good book, soft blanket, and enjoy an hour of the soft flickering and crackling of a fireplace.

Add Some Natural Accents

Cozy fall vibes can be as easy as a trip to the supermarket! With large bins overflowing with every size, shape, and color of pumpkin you could ever imagine, you can create fun and festive displays for your table, doorway or mantlepiece, all while picking up that week’s groceries!

    1. This blend combines Virginian Cedarwood, Juniper Berry, Fir Needle, Orange Essence, Eucalyptus Dives, Vetiver, Frankincense Carteri, German Chamomile CO2, Neroli, and Ylang Ylang Extra. Unfortunately, it’s sold out.

  1. Love your description of the Flannel oil. It sounds delicious so I know it will smell great. Looking forward to getting mine.

  2. I live in the desert southwest….fall around here is nights at 65 and days at 85-90. It is hard to get your head around cold weather, falling leaves, etc. Even fall blends are weird around here.

  3. Fireside Flannel sounds amazing! And I have used the Netflix fireside option before… Probably will have to again with my little one running around. Thanks for the simple, cozy ideas!

  4. Just because I’m hoping to LOVE Fireside Flannel (which I ordered last week, and am waiting on – looks like it will finally go out tomorrow – yay!) I tried to put another bottle in my cart tonight, and it says it can’t put it in… is it gone already?? I’ll be sad to not have the option to order more, I’m guessing…so just checking, and grateful I got one if it’s gone (I think!! )

  5. I really like the idea of changing the lighting. I love to set by my fire place and watch the flames with some nice oils in the difuser.

  6. Just ordered oils before I read the article. I was looking for a way to spruce up my living room so I will try some of these tips for the Fall.

  7. I actually Love the idea of simple decorations. I was getting a headache in the fall section of a store trying to figure out what to purchase. I ended up leaving with a new outdoor mat. I have fall placemats & a centrepiece on my kitchen table & a couple of wall fixtures from previous years. No meed to break the bank buying new things. However, I may get a throw pillow or 2 for the living room. Thats is so simple, yet festive! Thanks for the ideas PT!!!

  8. Such great tips! I’m originally from northeast US where autumn vibes are abundant. I’m now living in Hawaii which is beautiful, but not good for October homesickness. I’m excited to start implementing these suggestions to create my own autumn.

  9. Love the changing seasons…..fall scents are amazing like campfires and burning the leaves! Need a little pumpkin spice or zombie blood for the diffuser inside.

    1. I like the idea of putting in a simple throw to change up the decor. We’re not getting great leaf color here this year and I would love some artificial leaves to get my craving for Fall leaves in. And I may have to try Fireside Flannel.

  10. Fall is my happy time!!! Every scent that is fall like is being diffused as much as possible!! I LOVE FALL

  12. This sounds amazing. I have all the singles I need right now, and tend to buy only blends these days because they are all so good. I can’t wait for this one to come back in stock so I can try it. It’s still in the 90’s here, but I’m ready for winter!

  13. I live in Alaska and need all the warmth I can get. I was trying to create this exact scent. Now PT did it for me, and a much better job than I could do. The snow started here today, so I can’t wait to get my fireplace scent going. Thank you PT!!

  14. I live in Alaska and need all the warmth I can get. I was trying to create this exact scent on my own, but Plant Therapy did the work for me (and a much better job than I could do). I can’t wait to feel cozy as the temperature is already dropping quite low! Thank you PT!!

  15. As if your blends aren’t awesome enough, I think this blend is going to fill an unknown void in my collection 😉
