Let’s be honest, getting sick is no fun at all. Headache, runny nose, fever, congestion and coughing can make life miserable. While you’re doing everything you can to get back on your feet, use this Thyme Thymol Congestion Chest Rub to ease congestion and get you breathing better. Thyme Thymol and Rosalina will not only help clear your respiratory system, but both oils are great for giving your immune system a boost. Spruce Black and Eucalyptus Globulus also help ease breathing and clear congestion. Just combine these oils in your favorite lotion for an easy chest rub.

I am not having luck with my 3 year olds stuffy nose. I have tried sniffle stopper and sneezy stop. Is there anything else you would recommend?
Hi Andrea, if those aren’t working, you might try this vapor rub recipe that uses Rosalina, Eucalyptus Dives, and Cypress. Or check out the list of other oils that can help with a stuffy nose.
I don’t have Rosalina. Is there a comparable substitute?
Rosalina is very similar to Eucalyptus.
This is wonderful! While living in France, our doctor had us purchase a product like tho for our daughter when she was sick. I have always hoped to find a similar product since we’ve moved back but haven’t. Now I can make my own! Thanks Plant Therapy!
“Not kid safe” is until what age?
Kids ages 10 and above can start using non-KidSafe oils.
Do you have something like this for kids?
We sure do! Here’s a DIY for a KidSafe Vapor Rub.
Ho many drops of thyme, Rosalina, Eaucalyptus and spruce would I use for 1 oz?
You’d just need to halve the recipe: 2 drops Thyme, 2 drops Rosalina, 1 drop Spruce and 1 drop Eucalyptus.
I am congested all the time. Allergies and asthma. I am under a doctor’s care, and follow their treatment plan, but certain times of the year, the congestion persists, and keeps me from sleeping well. 2 questions:. 1. Is there something like this that I can use nightly during those seasons although I’m not ‘sick’, just congested?
Is there something like this (EO’s in an unscented cream) that I can use on my face (nasal congestion and sinus congestion, pain) nightly during some seasons?
I dont know if you have answers, but Thanks in advance
Hi Connie, in addition to this DIY, we also have two great blends to help with congestion that you could diffuse at night: Respir Aid and Sniffle Stopper. But I’d also recommend reaching out to our team of aromatherapists at [email protected] to help with your specific situation.
