Let’s Take a Look at Helichrysum

Helichrysum Italicum is considered one of the precious oils. This powerhouse oil is so popular and widely used that it’s now in shorter and shorter supply. True Helichrysum Italicum, also known as Immortelle, is grown only in a few spots around the world and is unsurpassed in its ability to rejuvenate the look of healthy, unblemished skin. While that might be what it’s most known for, the benefits certainly don’t stop there.

Glorious Skin

Young woman washing her faceThis amazing oil is extremely useful in skin rejuvenation as it counteracts the visible signs of aging. Not only does it reduce the appearance of wrinkles and helps smooth skin, but it’s also useful for combatting blemishes without drying out your skin. And thanks to Helichrysum’s anti-inflammatory properties, you can also use this essential oil on scars to discourage inflammation, help aid in healing, and keep skin healthy. Helichrysum also has anti-allergenic properties, making it a great natural remedy to help with the irritation that comes with hives, rashes or other skin irritation. It’s pretty much an all-around superstar when it comes to skin concerns.

Bumps & Bruises

Helichrysum is great for reducing the appearance of bruises. Plus it also aids in healing muscle tissue and reducing pain, inflammation, and swelling while enhancing blood circulation. Try our On the Mend Roller Blend to help next time someone has a bump or bruise that needs a little TLC. Plus, this oil is KidSafe, making it a great choice for the whole family.

Emotionally Calming

Plus its sweet, warm, herbal woody aroma blends well with a variety of citrusy and floral oils. Next time you feel your emotions running away with you, try having a personal aromatherapy inhaler on hand with five drops Lavender, five drops Helichrysum, three drops Frankincense, and three drops Marjoram. While you’re taking a minute to get centered, take a few deep breaths to help you feel uplifted and ready to move forward.

  • I just bought some and am looking forward to using it both in my diffuser as well as on my face. Just looking for some ideas for both applications. Which, if any other EO’s would be most beneficial to pair it with?

    1. Helichrysum is a very versatile oil. When diffusing, it blends well with Bergamot, Pepper Black, Chamomile Roman, Clary Sage, Geranium Egyptian, Lavender, Lemon, Neroli, Palmarosa, Rose Absolute, and Rosemary 1,8-Cineole. For skin care applications, pair it with other skin-beneficial oils like Lavender, Frankincense, Rose and Geranium.

  • Definitely my go to Oil for when I get ringing in my ears. I put a little bit just inside the ear. and its gone within the hour.

  • I have some pretty amazing scars from a major surgery and there is some nerve disruption. Hoping that it will help sped up the nerve regeneration and aid in skin ealing. Can’t wait to get it!

  • I have been impressed with the helichrysum hydrosol. It has helped stop bloody noses and the sting and itch of insect bites. While I find it useful, my kids don’t like the smell of the hydrosol. I’m trying the oil next and hopefully can make a blend that they like better.

  • I will NEVER be without this oil . Is it a little pricy? Well yes , but it is worth ~ Every. Single. Penny. I have two fearless little ones will horse around and get a bruise and or bump here and there. The first oil I go for is Heli. Also, my favorite essential oil in my daily face cream or argan oil especially in dry weather. I can go on forever, but I think you get the drift. Thank you PT !!!

  • This is an oil I can’t be without!! It goes in my face cream, stops bloody noses, good for cuts and scrapes. It has so many uses and now I can add one more. Thanks for all the great info.
