Oakwood Chip CO2 Extract

With complex smokey, woody top notes and undertones of creamy-vanilla, Oakwood Chip CO2 Extract is a wonderfully boozy addition to your collection. Due to its aged whiskey and rum aroma, Oakwood Chip CO2 Extract is excellent for bringing depth to your essential oil blends and perfect for cocktail-inspired DIYs. Enjoy using this unique oil for a wonderfully rich scent and complex, long-lasting aroma.

Oakwood Chip CO2 Essential Oil

You can enjoy Oakwood Chip CO2 Extract by diffusing 2-3 drops per 100 mL of water in your NovaFuse or dropping a few drops on a passive diffuser, like our Lotus Passive Diffuser. Craft your own signature blend by adding a few drops of this barrel-aged liquored smelling essential oil to Copaiba, Lemon, or Juniper Berry. If you don’t have those, try other blending suggestions listed below!

Although Oakwood Chip CO2 Extract doesn’t have much in the way of therapeutic benefits, it has an ideal aroma for creating natural body care products. Add this smokey extract to DIY perfumes, cologne, aftershave, and moisturizers. To use topically, dilute to a maximum of 1% in a carrier.

Bonus: Oakwood Chip CO2 Extract has come just in time for DIY winter cocktail diffuser blends, check out our DIY post here!

    1. Hi Cathy, I’m not exactly sure what you’re referring to. Are you talking about blending it with other oils or wondering how it blends in a carrier? Or is it regarding something else?

  • I am usually thrilled with the ootm selection, but, this month, not so much. I use my oils almost exclusively for their therapeutic benefits. Since this one doesn’t have any, I’m very disappointed.
I’ll try diffusing it with something that will lighten it. It’s too heavy and just not enjoyable to me on its own. So many people are excited about it, so I’m going to try to find a way to make it work.
At least it’s a great price, so if I end up tossing it, I don’t have to feel guilty.
Thank you Plant Therapy for making your products so incredibly affordable! Great quality & an excellent value.

  • I LOVED this oil. And a great solid cologne recipe too!?! I love a masculine scent (so does my mom). Can’t wait to make this!

  • I haven’t enjoyed the past OOTM oils so last month I stopped my subscription, then THIS oil hits?? I’m only just finding out you can get a certain OOTM by selecting one time purchase but BEFORE the end of each month. HOW CAN I GET THIS PARTICULAR OIL now that’s it’s December??? So sad

  • I am subscriber and I usually love all the new oils I receive every month. However, the Oakwood Chip oil is simply SUPERB! It is by far my MOST FAVORITE one for the entire year. I am not sure what I am going to do when I run out of it. Absolutely fantastic! Can this become part of the “permanent collection?”

  • This was my very first oil of the month and I am so excited. This oil is fantastic. The smell is so calming and comforting. It just gives me a sense of home. My husband is very fond of it, too. He has asked to take it to his office to use, but I know I wouldnt get it back. I would definitely buy this on a regular basis if it ever came available.

    1. Yes! If you go to the Oil of the Month page, just make sure to select one time purchase instead of subscribe to purchase only this oil. But it’d only available through the end of November!

  • I’m going to try this in my Cocoa Body Butter. I wonder how it will blend with Peru Balsam. Perfume scents are nice, they motivate you to use the cream, but I also need to have therapeutic benefits when using essential oils.

    1. It would probably smell lovely with Peru Balsam! Just keep in mind that Peru Balsam has a very low topical dilution rate and to adjust accordingly.

  • Wonderfully different and unique. I’m already making Christmas presents! Mixing with cedarwood and vanilla with a carrier of coconut. Smells amazing!
