Our product team has been hard at work and we’re excited to introduce their newest creations: Naturally Scented Candles! We’re really excited to add these candles to our line of household products. And we’re even more excited to tell you what’s in them.
First of all, they’re vegan! These naturally scented candles are hand-poured and made from an all-natural, vegan soy and coconut wax blend. They feature cotton wicks and a reusable ceramic jar. Each candle is scented entirely with carefully chosen essential oils and natural fragrance to give you the best aromatic experience possible. They’re made with high-quality ingredients, but what’s the best part? The amazing scent combos we created!
Natural Scent Combinations
Bamboo Rose has a beautiful, soft rose scent with citrus and vanilla undertones. When using this candle, it opens with the soft aromas of rose, geranium, and palmarosa. The rose is grounded by citrus and fruity accents, with just a touch of warm vanilla.
Lavender Vanilla has a predominately lavender aroma with soft vanilla and hints of cedarwood. When using this candle, it opens with the wonderfully deep aroma of lavender and then opens further with afternotes of soft vanilla and grounding cedarwood
Lemon Verbena opens with the clean smell of lemon, followed up with herbaceous notes of green mint and lemongrass. Eucalyptus and Citronella add further depth to this bright refreshing candle.
And finally, Sweet Cedar has a warm, sweet, woodsy, and smoky aroma. It opens with cedarwood’s deep aroma, followed up with warm notes of soft vanilla and cinnamon. The touch of warm spice makes it a perfect scent to enjoy while relaxing in a bath after a long day.
Because our candles are scented naturally, they won’t have the same intense aroma of a traditional candle. In the same way, it won’t fill your home with scent as much as synthetic fragrance does. But these candles will nicely fill a room with the soft, pleasant, and natural aroma of Bamboo Rose or Lavender Vanilla.
Meet the Ingredients
Our naturally scented candles are made with high-quality, natural ingredients that are clean and safe for your home. Our candles are made without phthalates, paraffin, dyes, and artificial fragrances. Meet the ingredients here:
- Wicks: Our candle wicks are made from natural cotton threads interwoven with paper threads and are 100% lead-free.
- Wax: The candle wax is 100% vegetable-wax. The soy wax is made from American-grown soybeans. The coconut wax is made of 100% hydrogenated coconut glycerides.
- Natural Fragrance: Our candle fragrances are composed of essential oils and the other natural fragrances that are considered safe by the International Fragrance Association.
Natural Fragrances
We’re excited to use natural fragrances in our new household creations! Although we understand they might cause some confusion because they aren’t labeled the same as essential oils. So, what are natural fragrances?
Natural fragrances are made up of isolates. Isolates are naturally occurring single chemicals that have been “isolated” from their natural sources. Each oil (Lavender, Peppermint, Rose, etc.) contains key constituents (citronellol, geraniol, linalool, etc.). It’s those constituents that can be isolated from the entire essential oil mixture and used for other purposes. Bottom line: Isolates are constituents from scents we love. They’re captured to make complex and unique fragrance blends that we know you’ll enjoy.

What are some other scent combos you’d like to see in a candle? Tell us in the comments below!
Something with grapefruit in the summer and perhaps a mix with rosemary in the fall/winter
So excited for this! Been looking for candles that are para en free!
Please consider making candles without soy! 🙂 Unfortunately, I have health issues that require me to limit and do my best to exclude soy in my diet and surrounding environment — that being said, I love your company and trust your products! I would love to see a candle line that is safe and without soy!
A heathy citronella for patios!
Oatmilk and chamomile. It is a warm and soothing scent.
My mom use to get pumpkin scented candles that were not the spice scent. It was a very mild aroma. Would love to see something like that!
I would love to try these candles because I am allergic to synthetics; but I am also allergic to geranium, citranella, and cinnamon. I’ll keep looking for new ‘flavors’ and hope to find some I can use.
I would love a PT candle that was a fresh and clean scent! Anything citrus, lavender, etc.
I’d love a Tropical Passion scented candle!

I quit using candles when i realized how much junk was in them, and began to diffuse instead- but I miss that candle light glow- these might be a great option!
Ditto!
How about a beach or tropical scent? 🙂
I would love to see a more earthy smell. Maybe a sandalwood mix, but not with anything sweet. Not a big fan on vanilla and other sweet scents.

I don’t use candles personally but yes I see the point made on the soy being used which could have been grown with pesticides. I see this being an easily rectified situation however if plant therapy only bought certified organic soy wax. Honestly I only buy the certified organic essential oils and carrier oils so that way I can be confident that no pesticides were used and that it was strictly tested from the USDA. I’d in general love to see a move to all certified organic everything in the future of plant therapy. In general though moving out of petrochemical use is also extremely important.
A citrus and spicy one with ginger and orange would be nice.
I love the fresh, earthiness of Rosemary. That could be nice in a candle.

I would like to see a vanilla candle or a manly leather/ bourbon scent.
I would love to try one of these candles, especially one with lemon, berries or sage.
I don’t normally use candles since they put so much bad stuff into the air, and beeswax ones I’ve made myself with EOs for scent haven’t provided a ton of scent other than warm beeswax, ha. Since these have fragrances rather than EOs, I suppose they’d have pretty good aroma throw! I look forward to trying them out. Plus, I love the look of these.
I would love to see an all citrus one or a sweet one like gingerbread! I can’t wait to try one of your candles. They sound amazing and so much better for my family than mall brand candles!
I love the ambiance of candles but don’t feel safe using them in my current home. This is part of the reason I use a diffuser. However, when I use my diffuser or have used candles in the past, I am typically using clean fresh scents like citrus or eucalyptus.
Lemon cupcake would honestly make a great one
The candles sound nice. I have some questions. Are the reusable ceramic jars food-grade, so the jars can be reused to put food in after the candles are used up? Also, are the reusable ceramic jars dishwasher safe?
Because these weren’t purchased or sold with the intentions of being used with food, these are not questions we can answer.

These sound lovely. How about a citrus and sage combination
Sandalwood & Vanilla is nice, I also like Eucalyptus (4 drops) with Lavandin (2 drops), then 1 drop of clary sage, and 1 drop of peppermint that is my favorite blend I put in my diffuser. Sometimes I add a drop of rosemary as well. large 500 mL diffuser. I always use too many drops for the smaller diffusers. I would love a Eucalyptus radiata candle with a hint of lavandin, peppermint, and clary sage.
Great Christmas gift idea thanks!
Plant Therapy is now my favorite essential oils company!

I would love a citrus scented candle for my kitchen!
I was excited to try a candle until I read that there is “natural fragrance” in addition to the oils. For an oil company, I would expect products scented with oils ONLY. Hopefully those become available!

Anything soft and Apple!!
Reading this makes me want to smell the real thing. Can’t wait to try!
Well, since they contain soy, which is one of the most heavily sprayed crops and was designed to be Round-Up resistant, I would not be interested in purchasing PT candles in any fragrance. I don’t care to inhale or expose my body (skin) to carcinogens and toxins when I can choose to make another choice.
Plant Therapy works very hard to source only the best, purest ingredients possible in all of our products. While we understand your concern, we do not have any concerns regarding these ingredients being contaminated or causing any health issues. We always recommend our customers make the best decisions they can for themselves and their family, however. Rest assured we have passed along your feedback to the appropriate teams for consideration. 🙂
