Our pets are part of the family. We worked hard on our Pup & Pony line to create safe and effective aromatherapy options for your pups. But that’s not the only natural product that can enrich your furry friend’s life. CBD also offers benefits for your pup, not to mention a tasty delivery system. We worked hard expertly formulating Canine CBD Oil Drops and Canine CBD Treats.
Today, we’ll cover some of the basics of using CBD with dogs and share the amazing natural ingredients in our tasty treats.
Endocannabinoid System in Dogs
The key to enjoying the benefits of CBD is the endocannabinoid system (eCS). This particular system is important for helping maintain overall homeostasis in your body. CBD (or Cannabidiol) interacts with the eCS to help create balance, which in turn helps keep your body running more smoothly. And like humans, dogs also possess this particular system. This means your canine friends can benefit from regularly taking CBD.
If you want to learn more about the endocannabinoid system, check out this more in-depth blog post. And if you feel like falling down the CBD rabbit hole, we have a whole host of informational posts on what CBD is, its benefits and so much more on our blog.
If you’ve started taking CBD for your own health and wellbeing, chances are you’ve experienced some of the benefits for yourself. They’re a great option for stormy nights, long days while you’re at work, or while traveling. Mark Verdino, MD, chief of veterinary staff at North Shore Animal League America, explained that CBD can help some dogs be less reactive to certain stimuli, whether from pain or anxiety .
And while there is some anecdotal evidence about the potential benefits of CBD for dogs, there is not yet complete formal research on the subject. But that should change soon! The American Kennel Club is currently sponsoring a research study through the Colorado State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences to evaluate the use of CBD in treatment-resistant epileptic dogs .
CBD Treats & Oil Drops
All of this brings us to our newest products: Canine CBD Treats & Oil Drops. Both options are expertly formulated in two strengths so that you can choose the right option for your dog’s size and needs.
The Pup & Pony Canine CBD Treats combine only the highest quality broad-spectrum whole plant CBD distillate, along with other all-natural ingredients. Made with a delicious peanut butter flavor and natural ingredients like garbanzo bean flour and ground peanuts, these treats are a tasty, easy way to give your pupper their daily CBD. The 5 mg serving is formulated specifically for small to medium dogs and the 10 mg serving is formulated specifically for medium to large dogs.
It gets better. These treats are THC Free, vegan, and all-natural. They don’t contain any chemical additives, artificial flavor or animal by-products.
If CBD Oil Drops better suit your pup’s needs, you can choose from two strengths: 240 mg for small to medium-sized dogs and 480 mg for medium to large-sized. The same high-quality CBD is suspended in hemp seed oil. And the glass dropper makes it easy to put the CBD directly into your dog’s mouth or onto their food.
