Planting Kindness for Pride Month

This June, we celebrate Pride Month, a month full of love and celebration. It’s dedicated to the LGBTQ+ community and their advocates as they celebrate their journey while continuing to raise awareness on the current issues they face every day. As a part of our Planting Kindness program, we want to focus our efforts this June to help a special foundation, The Trevor Project. This organization provides much-needed crisis intervention and suicide prevention services for LGBTQ youth. Plus, we have a fun new essential oil blend for you to try that is special to Pride Month!

To celebrate Pride Month, we are introducing our newest essential oil blend, Pride! This blend captures the fun, unapologetic, and unwavering spirit of the LGBTQ+ community. One whiff of the blend and you’ll pick up its fun and uplifting scent. Blending sparkling Pink Grapefruit, zesty Steam Distilled Lime, and juicy Mandarin with Black Pepper and Magnolia, this blend has an overall bright, yet spicy and sweet floral aroma.

Add this fresh blend into your diffuser for an uplifting atmosphere. Or, add it to unscented lotion or cream to take in its sweet citrus aroma throughout your day. Pride Essential Oil Blend is not KidSafe, Pregnancy Safe, Nursing Safe, or Pup & Pony Safe.

Plus, each purchase of the blend includes a free Pride Sticker! Keep in mind, you can only get one sticker per order. To receive multiple stickers, orders must be placed individually.

The Trevor Project

Throughout June, we are donating $5 for every bottle purchased of our newest blend, Pride, to an amazing foundation called The Trevor Project. The Trevor Project was founded in 1998 and is the nation’s leading organization providing crisis and suicide prevention services to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning (LGBTQ) young people under the age of 25.

In addition, the foundation has multiple hotlines to call, online chat, or text confidentially with trained counselors and is available 24/7. Donations to The Trevor Project make it possible to provide free services to LGBTQ+ youth. In addition to the crisis hotlines, they provide training for volunteers. Not only do donations help continue their efforts, but anyone can volunteer and help an incredible organization. To learn more about their impact, visit their website here.

Celebrating Pride Month

Pride Month serves as a tribute to those involved in historic LGBTQ activism. Places around the world hold massive rallies, pride parades, workshops, and other events to unite the community [1]. It’s a time to celebrate how far the movement has come and to recognize the progress that has been made.

In addition to its festive rainbow flags and glittery parades, Pride Month is also a time to encourage the community and its allies to learn the history of the movement. Taking the time to read LGBTQ+ books, watch movies, or binge TV shows can help the community understand the challenges and hopes the LGBTQ+ community has endured. This is another great way to celebrate Pride Month to understand and become stronger allies. To learn more about the history of Pride Month, click here.

  • In Catholicism PRIDE is a sin, the Rainbow is a symbol of God’s promise to the human race, and June is the month we devote ourselves to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

I’m so disappointed in my favorite oil company bending to an immoral agenda that leads to unhappiness and brokenness in our world.

  • People don’t like hearing what hey don’t want to hear. Love, yes, but being broken is okay and this is rarely communicated.

  • Thank you for your kindness. I for believe for a minute this was a profit product. I for one am happy to see bigots go…I have family and friends in this community and support them 100%…The comment about suicide being so high is because of who they are is wrong one many levels. Not a life choice…how they are born….and bigots are the cause of the every day stress they encounter. Special place in hell for the bigots.

  • Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.
When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with the humble is wisdom.
The fear of the Lord is hatred of evil. Pride and arrogance and the way of evil and perverted speech I hate.
In the pride of his face the wicked does not seek him; all his thoughts are, “There is no God.”
Haughty eyes and a proud heart, the lamp of the wicked, are sin.
And God said, “This (Rainbow) is the sign of the covenant that I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for all future generations: I have set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be a sign of the covenant between me and the earth.”

  • Hmmm. I want to acknowledge your effort to show affirmation to each person’s individual choices. However, will you please reply to this: You mentioned Pride Parades and Pride events. Have you ever attended them? I used to live on the corner of a downtown park, and witnessed a few Pride events. It most definitely is not family friendly. It was not difficult to comprehend that a high suicide rate and depression diagnosis is a strong element in this community. Primarily what I saw was perversion and a distortion of family foundations. It greatly concerns me to see even the very young being led astray by this mindset. As a mother of 7, I have had many opportunities to witness how a child develops and needs guidance. Please hear me, I have ONLY shown kindness given any one on one opportunities with people in the LGBTQ community. But I will not support affirming this behavior as a lifestyle choice.
I wish you No ill will. When folks in the Comments mention Christianity in reference to what happened to love and love for all, that is a false dichotomy. Absolutely as Christians we are called to love. But also to speak the truth in kindness. And allow others to make their own choice. Others can make the choice for this lifestyle, I choose not to see my dollars support it. I had plans to rebuy the EO car diffuser, but I cannot do this now. I am genuinely sad to hear of your position.

  • Thank you for providing one of many products to support the Pride Month and Trevor’s Project. I’m excited to try this oil in my diffuser. Great job PT.

  • We love this blend! Thank you for supporting Pride Month! For every person that threatens to not buy again, you have gained a loyal customer that will buy for life!

  • Another company succumbing to an agenda and making money off of it. It’s exhausting trying to just shop for clothes, goods etc and now essential oils without being bombarded with the agenda of a company. No thank you and good bye.

  • These negative comments hurt my heart. Are people so intolerant that they can’t be supportive of a group unless they are a part of it? What if your sister, brother, son, or daughter was a member of this community? Would you support them? Bravo, Plant Therapy. I’ve long been a customer of DoTerra, and just today received my first oils from you. I can tell you that I will order ONLY from PT from now on. And for the people who are claiming to be Christian, but leaving PT because of their support of this community, what happened to acceptance, tolerance, and love?

  • Thank you. I thought you were a straight & narrow company. I enjoy your selections and thoughts behind your items. I am a happy customer.

  • I figured you would censor my comment. But at least you know how I feel. I’m sure I’m not the only feedback that didn’t make the cut. Really disappointed that I put my faith in your company and was really excited to visit your store. I feel so betrayed. Oh well, your company is one of many.

  • I was happy to see how well you can love and how big your heart is and very sad to read negative comments. Our only job as Christians is to love. Anything else- you are being misled.

  • You supported BLM before I truly understood what they were really about and watched as you scrambled to make your advertising more “diverse” to jump on the BLM bandwagon. (I’m sure Patrisse Cullors (co-founder) is thanking you for your contribution so she could buy four homes worth millions and millions in the bank! and is now stepping down. And let’s not forget Rashad Turner MN chapter founder who is leaving after he learned that BLM “had little concern for rebuilding black families). And how convenient….The Trevor Project supports BLM…two birds with one stone!
Soooo sick of “woke” companies!!! You should have thought long and hard about bringing politics into your business because it WILL be your demise. People are sick and tired of having this garbage shoved in their face at every turn. Just because it’s the “IN” thing to do, doesn’t mean it’s the right thing to do. Bye bye…

  • I will have to so some soul searching about remaining a customer with you. I know you did this for the money. You have crossed the line but I understand the fear of not conforming to the way of the world.

  • I have spent a LOT of money with you over the years but now I’ll be buying my oils from other suppliers. Too bad you had to politicize your website. Is this what you want for YOUR kids? There is a BIG difference between loving and condoning. I’m gone!

  • I second what Aldus said. Bye Plant Therapy. Thankfully, there are plenty of other equally good oil companies out there to choose from!

  • PLEASE STOP THE “WOKE” POLITICAL NARRATIVE and AGENDA and PUSH of GAY PRIDE on your website that sells essential oils. I LOVE your product, but now, how can I go on supporting you and this agenda???!!! I just gave up my beauty facial product line today which was difficult enough… but now my oils too?!?! Seriously. Why are you making your “social score” more important than just selling oils? BTW, where was my “He is Risen” or “The Tomb is Empty” oil to celebrate our Risen King Jesus over the Easter Celebration? I would say that’s a pretty big event to celebrate! PLUS, the LGBTQ+ community condones Drag Queens READING very controversial stories to CHILDREN at public libraries. This is extremely questionable behavior… not surprising that this particular oil blend IS NOT KidSafe, Pregnancy Safe, Nursing Safe, or Pup & Pony Safe. Why are you caving to this kind of government control, because this is what all of this truly boils down to. I am a very sad customer today as I’m having to say NO with my wallet. I just can’t support your company when these are the types of destructive initiatives I know you support. Unfortunately there will be quite a lot of backlash from this inititiave you are supporting.

  • PRIDE is not something I want to donate to. Kindness comes in many forms and PRIDE is Not one of them.

  • My desire is to buy good products – not a point of view – or support a cause. And you make wonderful products! I have been so pleased with the quality and service. But that is all I want the product not the companies view on the world. As someone earlier said it is sad. This is not a perspective I support so you have lost another long time customer.

  • The Rainbow is a promise from God not a symbol of pride. Very disappointed in Plant Therapy.

  • this make me so sad…that you would help raise money for pride???? month! what has happened to us??? a family friendly company and you’re doing this?? sorry, can’t support this endeavor..true, there definitely needs to be help for these poor souls that are so desperate that the suicide rate among these poor people is so high!! It should tell you right there that is not “normal” behavior…they have been blinded..I have ordered many years from you and have long recommended you as a small family owned business. This is highly disappointing that you would fall prey to all of the “political correctness”…..

  • Thank you for making the choice to support love is love by contributing to the Trevor Project. This organization saved my young niece’s life when she faced atrocious hate from adults who preached love and kindness then turned and attacked her for not loving “the right way”. Our family still has this beautiful woman who contributes in amazing ways to her community because strangers loved her when her “community” hated.

    1. Hi Kristine, this is just one of our many Planting Kindness initiatives. Last month, we were able to donate almost $5,000 to the Jed Foundation for mental health awareness month. In the coming months, we’ll feature different many different organizations. Additionally, we donate to a number of organizations and non-profits around the world and in our local community. You can learn more about it here.

  • Sad. You just lost a long time customer. I think everyone can do whatever they want with their lives, but also their money too. I’m not going to support your company pushing this agenda and I certainly don’t want to use my funds for this. I’m voting with my wallet now.

  • Love your support to the LGBTQ+ community!!! Makes me love your company even more than I already do ♥️

  • Thank you for acknowledging my community! I have been waiting on PT to take a stand for love. This is everything!
