It’s Pride Month and Plant Therapy is celebrating with a brand new blend! It’s fruity and bright with hints of floral and spice. And during the month of June, we’re donating $5 with every purchase of Pride to The Trevor Project. This organization provides much-needed crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer & questioning (LGBTQ+) young people under 25.
As a small way to celebrate and support the LGBTQ+ community, we created this fun, and much easier than you think, DIY Pride Flag Soap. Each color in the Pride Flag represents an ideal that is important to the movement: red for life, orange for healing, yellow for sunlight, green for nature, blue for peace, and purple for spirit. These original colors have been used for the flag since 1979. But recent years have brought a few updates with black and brown stripes to represent people of color in the movement as well as pink, light blue, and white which are used in the trans pride flag.
To make this bright, uplifting soap, all you need is a silicone mold, natural soap colorant, and a melt and pour soap base (we’re particular fans of the goat’s milk variety).
How to Make DIY Pride Flag Soap
What you’ll need:
- 12 oz Melt and pour soap base
- Soap coloring set
- Pride Essential Oil Blend
- Silicone soap molds
What you’ll do:
- Working in 2 oz chunks, melt the soap base over a double boiler.
- Add a small amount of soap coloring and combine well. You can also add the soap coloring after the essential oils and lightly stir for a marbled effect.
- Remove from heat and let cool for 30 seconds to a minute. Add 20 drops of Pride blend and stir until completely combined.
- Pour into the soap molds in small even layers. If you’re using a loaf mold, pour the entire contents in a single layer.
- While the soap cools, wipe out the bowl and begin melting the next 2 oz chunk of soap base until you have all six colors: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple.
- Once the soap has completely cooled, remove it from the mold and enjoy the fun, vibrant, celebratory colors and scent.

Finally, they agreed to print a comment I concur with. Makes me wonder how many others like yours (and mine, that was never printed) have been bypassed to only allow the customers who agree with this ridiculous initiative to have a voice… So selective. Sad that a company that was originally founded on virtue has decided to regress into obscure depths. I don’t blame your decision and have cancelled so many memberships over the course of this last year. I’m afraid I’ll have to add PT to that list too. I’d rather pay double for a company product elsewhere that doesn’t objectify people.
I’m very disappointed in Plant Therapy in the path they have chosen…no more PT for me. My trust is broken…All for the love of money. Disappointed!
